Did Dumbledore die in vain or did his death make something possible? I can't decide about this.

I think it made something possible. I think it made it possible for Harry to not return to hogwarts and to continue his quest, i think Dumbledore would have wanted him to finish his learning first.

Hm. Good theory.
I hope Dumbledore didn't die in vain, but I'm afraid that he did. Or maybe he didn't die at all. (Not my opinion, but there are lots of theories going around, claiming that Dumbledore is actually still alive.)

But then there were loads of theories about how Sirius wasn't dead. Every time a character dies, there'll be theories.
I think Dumbledore died so that Snape would have fullfilled his Unbreakable Vow and would not have to die. Dumbledore trusted Snape to the last and he knew that Snape had to live as he was such a valuable spy.

That makes sense. And my hope that Snape isn't evil after all keeps rising. ;D

Just stealing words out of my mouth now aren't you Suzi It's ok, i understand, but yeah that's what i think too. AND i also think that when Potter called him a coward he got so angry because he had just killed someone he really didn't want to kill because they had pleaded him too.

It was outside, when Harry was running after him and trying to curse him with his own spells, he didn't take to it, very well, hold on.
"Kill me then" panted Harry, who felt no fear at all, but only rage and contempt. "Kill me like you killed him, you coward -" "DON'T - " screamed Snape, and his face was suddenly demented, inhuman, as though he was in as much pain as the yelping, howling dog stuck in the burning house behind them, "- CALL ME A COWARD!" - Page 564 (Kids Cover)

No problem! The way JKR descibes it, it shows that he knew he wasn't a coward, he had just killed the only person in the order who had ever trusted him which must have taken a lot of guts.

Yeah, but I think Dumbledore wanted him to. Plus he had to or else he'd have died

And then Voldemort would have known that Snape was a spy.
It all makes sense now. ;D
